A GREAT PAINTING!!

The first time that I saw this Picture I got scared. Actually, it has threatened me until now!! However, every time that I find this picture in anywhere, I can stop and look at it a long time (SM). This is a very good painting that represents the anguish of somebody that is lost or has lost something valued for him/her. When you see this painting you are not strange to it, you can feel exactly the same as the character. (SM)That is the main purpose of all the paintings. (P) And that is what the painter expects of you, through the colours and details.

I HATE MATHS!!

I don’t know why I always have hate maths (WO). Actually, this subject is like my trauma (SM) (WO) (WT). I try to put much effort to accomplish all my tasks in it. However, when I am in front of a test, something happened to my (WT), that I did all the exercises bad. Actually, before take the test I tried to study with some of my classmates (WT). But my performances in it were deplorable. But, this problem was not only at the school. When I entered at the university, I had to take maths (again!!) I was so nervous because I have never been good at maths (P) so I had a prediction on my mind. Thankfully, I could pass the subject without too many problems.

Telling you about me, I can say that I like English so much. Want to be an English teacher, because I believe that I can make a little change in the way how it has been teaching. Actually, now I practice: spinning, aero box and aero-step, I practiced tae kwon do but I had to left it because of the time. I love to dance and listen to English music.

Oh! I think I have got a lot of favourite piece(SM) of technology, (P) few years ago when I was (SM) adolescent I was always playing with my Nintento (SP), I loved it, one time I was waiting for Christmas and when this night arrived (WE) my parents had a great gift for me, they gave me my first Nintendo, then the supernintendo came to the market. I don’t know why but when I’m thinking about Nintendo a lot of good regards spring (WE) to my mind. In the final(WE) of the nineties was release for sale the Nintendo64, I remembered that one time I was playing (WF) two days on-the-run. The N64 was incredible and it had an amazing graphics level.Years later I realized that to buy video consoles it was a stupid thing because it’s much better to buy a good personal computer, then the PC became my favourite piece of technology, I could do everything I wanted, Internet, to watch movies, to play video games and so on. Now I use my PC for college work, but when I have free time I can share information with friends or I can watch a good film with my girlfriend. That’s all for me. Well, I tried not to make mistakes…. Guud vay!!!

In my point of view (P) the best field trip was in Alto del Carmen, III region. That field trip was in last(X) years(X) 2007. That field trip was duration of (WE) one week. The subject was Geología de Campo I, in (P) (SM)Facultad de Ciencias Físicas y Matemáticas(P) and that subject (course) is included (WW) with complementary formation. I remember saw to (WW) lot of fosil(SM) (SM) the Jurasic age with waylay (?). The wayla is (SM)kind of mollusc. Also (SM) saw a lot of (SM) kind the (WW) rock with limestone, andesite, wacka and minerals (SM) as quartz, feldespt, and fragment litic. I remember what all night we have had drink the alcohol(?). The ultimate (WW) day (SM -2words-))back to Santiago, We played futbol and I (x) with some (SM) classmate(SM) had (X) swimming (WT) in the pool of camping. That day in(X) the(X) (SM) night the teacher (Brian Townley) had (SM) barbecued for all (SM) people. Also I remember had other course (Geologia Campo II). That field trip I celebrated my birthday (July 30)(?). On the other hand I remember have had (X) worked a lot of(X) in that day. We got up many (X) early (SM), more (SM) less to 7 o’clock. That day was hard, all our walked various hours for a lot of hill looking rock and stratum formation. The back in Santiago we have had make to geology map the Alto del Carmen (?)

Billy buried kes but his mind was knitting the worst vendetta that Jud would ever imagine. Three weeks waited Billy patiently, when one night his opportunity came with Jud drunk and his mother in a short trip with one of her lovers. That night Billy, as always, helped Jud taking off the clothes. When he was ready inside the bed, Billy decided took all the money that Jud has gain in one of his latest robbers (his new way to obtain money).

Billy walked five days to south direction. He arrived to a new and interesting city in which he decided to live without his mother and brother. He was so good at this city that he never needed them again in his life. He grew and got mature alone and found the road of his life so far, of what he family used to be.

Task 2:

I think that work with the students of the Universidad the Chile has been a very good way to learn from others. Moreover, it is useful for us because this is the same way that we will have to deal with students from the schools. I really enjoy this way because I pay much attention and care to check student’s blogs. By the time that I understood that they really depend in some way of my “job” I put much effort in the correction that I do every Wednesday for them. I think that the connection, which we have with the student from Universidad de Chile by blogs, is beneficial for both sides. They have somebody that helps them to improve their writing and English. And we start to practice as teachers.

In the future I think is (X) (SM) working in Universidad de Chile( Facultad de Ciencias Sociales -Escuela de Antropología) in together (WE) with IPHES (Insitituto Catalan de Paleoecologia Humana y Evolucion Social), because I loved archaeology (P) moreover (P) soonly (SP) I will have interview with (SM) archaeology__ (SM) with (X) Donald Jackson for (WW) working (WF) and make the professional practice (SM). The IPHES is a network world (WO) (SM) the evolution and archaeology the first human settlement. They have a post degree about Quaternary Archaeology and Human Evolution. This post degree (SM) make in Spain (?). In this time I will hope to have that post degree (?). I will live in Santiago, but before I lived in Spain while I had post degree. When gradued I will travel for (WW) (SM) Chile making investigation in these item (WW). My idea in the future is studied (WF) archaeology and I will be the best archaeology in Chile. Maybe I (SM) have girlfiend, but I do not married, because I will (X) think (SM) wedding (X) after 30 years old. Maybe my the worst problem is plannig a lot of the future, but I think that is how it should be (?).

When Simon told us that we had to do homework about a “trip situation” I didn’t know what I could say about it. Well, I don’t want to talk about a trip from home to get (SM) college because it’s boring and when I think about this kind of trip I get bored by (X) it (X).Now, I’m going to tell you a great (NN) story about a “great trip”. Last summer I went across/I (X) crossed (X) The Andes and (X) I (X) went (X) to Mendoza, when I got there I started to prepare my trip to Bolivia and my intention was get to La Paz. I knew there are thousands kilometres between Mendoza and La Paz, but that did not matter to me but that wasn't a big deal for me (NN) because I had fifty days to do it.Now, when I got to La Paz I spent some days there with my girlfriend, she was my “road trip partner”. So, when I wished some action, she was there to give it to me… jajaja. Then, we went to The Sun Island and when we got there we spent wonderful days. We stayed in the southern side of the island and then we went to (SM) northern side.When we were about to leave the northern side of the island, I talked with two or may be three Bolivians peasant and everyone said to me- relax my friend!! It will take you between five to six hours to cross the island!!! I believed them! So (WE), when we were on (WW) our way we saw the most beautiful landscapes we've ever seen, it was amazing!! When we were halfway we saw a Chilean friend, we’d met in the southern side of the island and we met (SM) again in the middle of nowhere!!! So (NN), in that moment he said to me- hey! Do you want something to smoke? – And I asked him… well; (P) show me what you’ve got!! I may not say what we smoked exactly, but you know what I mean.After we smoked “something”, we decided to go on with our trip, when the night was getting closer we realized that “the five to six hours” was a bullshit (Bolivian peasant declaration!!), we've been walking for about ten hours and we didn’t find any place to spend the night. When the dark fell to us, we started to become exasperated… we were lost!! So, my nice girlfriend started to shout me and she said to me that everything was my fault! She said to me "I hate you"... I tried to calm her down but I could not do it.At least, after 12 hours walking and screaming for help, we found the nearest town… I’ve gotta confess, I thought I could die...

Ricardo's blog !!

Looking in the blog of Ricardo, what called my attention the most was the Fact that he has not many mistakes. Actually, one of his most frequent errors is the word choice such as environment instead of air or like instead of life. The misused of articles (a-an) and the lack of some words (the) are minimum details, that he has to be aware of. However, his writing is quite good and understandable.

Let's look at hector's blog !!

Looking in Hector’s blog I could realized that the most frequent errors that he does is to translate word by words from Spanish to English, thus, loosing the coherence and the main idea of what he want to say because the sentences are a little bit choppy. Another frequent mistake is the lack of auxiliaries. Probably it is not the lack of aux. but the misused of them. Finally, the use of the Spanish form in the building of the paragraph, it is an obstacle to understand his post.

"Coming back to blogs"

Going back to blogs, I think that this semester it is going to be more demanding because we have the responsability to help people we do not know. This time we have to put much effort than before because they really need to improve their writing and we have to gain experience. I hope this new way of work can be useful for both sides and by the time they improve their English, we can feel more what teachers do. I hope we will have good performances on this task.

Working with blogs can be a very good tool that helps you to see the progress that your students are having in your subject. Nowadays, blogs have increased their popularity because teachers and students are using them to accomplish tasks for schools. This is a good way to engage your students to your subject, through something that they are use to, technology. However, its use has to be always guarded by you because internet has a lot of information, that sometimes is not good for your students.

The main advantages of using blogs, is the way how you can share your interests with others with the same ones. You write about whatever you want and your friends get into your blogs and leave a message to you, adding more information or just saying something funny about what you have written, for example: the time, when we should talk about a painting that has called our attention the most, I did it based on the one called “The Scream” and Nathalia left me a message adding more information and agreeing in almost all the info that I gave (her comments seemed very clever). I didn’t understand why she knew too much about my post. But, when I reacted and went to her blog, I realized that she had done the same as me!! That was so fun because I thought she was very interesting in my post.

Another advantage for using blogs in the classroom is that you can increase the writing in your students, and they will not realize of this (they will think that this is just another assignments to get a new grade for the course). You can check all the blogs and see the strengths and weaknesses that they have in the are that you are measuring, as Simon did with us in this course.

On the other hand, what has been threatening me the most, it’s that internet spreads a lot info that sometimes it is not appropriated for students. So, it is necessary, that the teachers teach the students to discriminate the websites (where they have to go and look for information) beferore the task starts, in order to avoid they can find bad influence from it.

Finally, work with blogs in classrooms can be useful, to increase to your students the love for writing, through a way that they are used to. Thus, they will feel more engaged with this task and like this more willing to accomplish all the goals that this activities present along the process. However, the teachers have to be aware of the websites that their students are going to be using, in order they can find erroneous information

Rusty James: the motorcycle boy’s brother. He as many teenagers in this world he could live or appear in the street without being wounded because of the fame of his brother. In some aspects he was always being care of his brother. Even when he wasn’t close to him

The Motorcycle Boy: he is the main character of the movie and probably the connection to the Earth of his brother. We can deduce his attitude, as a vindication that he had in California, where, he could saw his mother. Probably, his mother told him something that made him react.

Steve Hays: the good boy that was changed by his bad influences the “friends”. A very ordinary issue that, we can see nowadays in our society. I don’t think, he was a very important actor in the movie. I mean, they put him there just to fill the movie more.

Patty: the love of Rusty James!! Actually, she is not a big influence in this story, because we didn’t see any change in Rusty that we can say: ok! He changed his attitude in the name of the love that he has for Patty, nooo never!!

Cassandra: rather than Patty, she has an influence in the movie; probably we didn’t see her in many scenes. However, the way in how she continued with the kind of life that, the motorcycle boy had changed. This situation, Made him to have much willpower, in order to don’t do those things anymore.

Patterson: the police that killed the motorcycle boy!! I still think that he had personal problems with him. It is impossible that an ordinary police had to much hate against somebody. Even more, when, he presented a vindication in his acts.

Smokey: who was him??

Rusty's parents: the great image that teenagers may have!! What a life with those parents!! We must point out, the good relationship that the father has with his sons.

let's correct some mistakes!!

This is one of the posts that appear in Sebastian’s blog. Actually this is the only that has mistakes (not too many, but it has them)! The three mistakes are: two in spelling and the other is in the capitalization of a word (mistakes that everyone does).

blog's review

I like this blog because it is very simple (and I love simple things!) it is not full of links and chats and pictures, It has just the necessary!! And the best thing, it is that he has all the homework!! What is more, he has more words than the needed. He really enjoys writing in the computer.

I have found just one point against this blog: the colour’s combination probably is according to a man but what I don’t like is the colour of the writing. Because it impedes me to read well, even more, when somebody has sight problems like me!!

Despite of colour writing, it is still cool. And he has a lot of interesting post like the one related with Ronaldo and John Lennon. Not like the one about his favourite band, I am sorry but I hate that kind of music. Actually I can’t stand them!

"My best Movie"

First of all, I would like to meet not just one famous, Actually, I would like to have a dinner (in the best Restaurant of New York) with: Martin Scorsese, Pedro Almodóvar, Quentin Tarantino, Francis ford Coppola, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and Woody Allen. I think they are the best directors of the world, and I would like to share a little bit about their great work in the movies’ world. Can you imagine that dinner!! Actually, I have already that imagine in my mind and it is FANTASTIC!! It would be the best of the movies!! I think that my first reaction would be start to shaking and my hands would get wet. However, I would be able to hold myself and start to have the best conversation of my life. I think that my first Question would be: what do you feel when all your work is rewarded with an Oscar?

Japanese Learning English

The first thing that I thought was: what’s this?? and then I started to laugh. But, in fact, this is a very good method, for example: have you ever heard a gingle that after a moment you are singing it at every time?? I think that, They have decided to teach this basics but very helpful phrases through a song because, they are a good way to get into the brain of the people and then remember by them. We always criticize japanese people to invent crazy things, but we never really think about them. Even more, we should copy this method to apply it with children.

WHERE ARE THE CHILDREN'S RIGHTS?

A man trying to make his son stop to crying put him under the squirt of water and left him almost drown. He stopped to do that, until his three kids implore him.

How a man can do these things? What occurs in his mind that let him attack HIS son? I don’t understand those reactions against your own blood. There are many people that cannot have sons because of something genetic, but others attack them as if nothing happen. Nowadays, the news has shown many cases of child abuse. There is still in our memories the case of the children, that his parents gave them poo with sugar and pi to eat, that is so disgusting!!

What can we do?? Love ours children only!! And pray that at least God from above send us a little help to avoid these aberrations.

"Rapel Lake" my favourite place

The Rapel Lake is the place that I enjoy visiting the most. This is located in the 6th region of Chile “Libertador Bernardo O’Higgins”. This beautiful lake is surrounded by many campsites (but not like the one that every person thinks, when I tell them). The camping where I go is called Granja Amanda, and this is so nice. We have everything there, until a pub!! I remember that I told to my best friend about my vacations, and she answered me: “so, that place is like to going to Algarrobo (where people used to be impolite and messy and vulgar, etc) and in that moment I said her: “noooooo!!! Are you crazy?? This is too different!! Even more I invite you this summer to spend your vacations with my family and me, ok?” Since that time she goes every summer with us.

The first time that I went there was 22 years ago; actually, I was in mum’s womb! (And I still enjoy going there). That time, we went with my family but the whole one (we are 45: aunts, relatives, cousins, etc). We go to Rapel every summer, since 30 years ago (I meet that place as the palm of my hand!!). In fact, my grandfather (may rest in peace) went there since he was baby, so, that place is like a tradition for us. Everybody knows the “Clavero’s family” and I have a lot of friend there. What make more interesting The Granja Amanda and the Rapel Lake is that the owners of the campsite also have a tradition and that is called “The week of the campsite” we play games, every age has to play it, since the young until the oldest one.

"The Commitments"

First of all, I have to tell you the truth!! I didn’t like the book. Probably, it was the fact that sometimes I couldn’t understand some words ‘cause they where like cut or repeated, and that at the same time impedes me to have a good comprehension of each role. Although, it didn’t happen me with the film ‘cause what helped me the most, to complete what in the book was missing, were: the images, the actuation, the sounds, etc. all those details that we cannot notice in the book ‘because they are summarized to a few words. That was the problem that I had while I was reading the book the: “THU – CUDADUNG CUDADUNG CUDADUNG” which, I still don’t know what it is!! Are the sounds of the instruments or something like that??

Perhaps giving to the film a point less, can be that how it was a movie it is obviously that, directors omits some parts (what about one of the first integrants of the band, where is that part?) or changes other (as was the case of the kiss that one of the girl gave to Joe the lips, but there appear that it was like mutual), even more, they add some new ones. However, the film could portrait the essence of the book almost good. If we had only seen the movie, probably I never had realized of those small details. Perhaps, one of the most things that I like from “The Commitments” was the fact that it showed us, how a band begins to work, the “stardom” and the death of the band. That was really cool ‘because that happened nowadays with those fleeting bands.

my bad work experience

First of all, My mind is not full of ideas to write about. So I found a topic (not very interesting for you, I think) to do my homework.

As many of you know, I did one of my work experiences in a school, where, I had to stay almost the whole day in a tiny room. Moreover, I couldn’t went to the classrooms because my guide teacher didn’t allow me. Even more, I couldn’t be near of the students in the breaks, because the principal was almost every time looking what I was doing. That experience was so bad, even because the teacher after two months was too disagreeable with me. She said that I wasn’t motivated but how I was gonna be motivated if a couldn’t be in the classroom while she was giving the lesson?.

So what do you think about that?

BBB a great place for learning!!

I totally agree with you Simon!! Lately I have been working a lot with that website. The reason, I am doing my experience in San Luis Beltran, where, there are two girls from England, and they always resort to that place. In fact, last Thursday, Heather (one of the girls) prepared a lesson based on James Bond took it from BBC, and I was the Person in charge to apply it with the children, although, the students couldn’t do the activity very well (because their level of English), they really enjoyed it!! Talking on my experience with the BBC, I remember that, the first time that I look for something in the BBC was in my second year in the university. I was looking for exercises on Grammar (I don’t remember very well what was it), and I found “The flatmates” it was cool ‘cause at the same time that I was learning the rule (that I was looking for) I could saw it in the context, I mean in examples in almost real life! That was great! Actually when I got bored in San Luis beltran, I go to BBC and I start to solve the quizzes or the crossword. I think that it is a very useful website for us and we can learn a lot from it.

"Sir Ken Robinson"

First of all, I strongly agree with Sir Ken Robinson’s talk. Nowadays, our schools are killing the children’s creativity ‘cause they ask for follow patterns and do not allow students make their own discovers. We can see this problem not only in arts subject, in all of them. I Remember, when I was in my last school year, that a classmate and I, where solving maths exercises, and we found a new way to solve them and we told our teacher about what we have done. Obviously, she told us that, even if the result of the exercise was good, if we haven’t follow her method the exercise was bad and in the test she was going to graded it bad ‘cause we haven’t follow her rule. I can’t understand, how schools teach old methods, if the world is asking for develop the children’s creativity and critical thinking and what they are doing now is avoid that our children develop those concepts. "WE HAVE A LOT TO DO, WHEN WE BECOME A TEACHER!!"

"My Favourite Website"

This is my favourite website “wordreference”, maybe you are going to say to me that an on-line dictionary is not such an interesting website but it really helps me, and I will tell you why?!

First of all, I found this website through a teacher that we had in our first year of University, Called Andrea Casals. She gave us a list with many useful pages, and among all of them, was wordreference. I tend to visit Wordreference like twice a day or as much three times a day.

I like this site ‘cause is a fast way to find words that I don’t know. The thing is that I am not good at looking for words in the dictionary, I got lost among all those letters, really!! J And what’s the best thing of all; it is that you don’t spend too much time looking for words in each page!! That’s a wonderful thing!! Thanks god we have this technology that nowadays make easier our life.

Thinking about being the same without wordreference, I think, that I would be the same BUT with less time to spend, sharing with my friends and family, ‘cause instead of being with them, I should bee sitting in a chair, looking for words in an old, heavy and with an smell of damp. That’s not really cool!!

China claims Dalai Lama ready to foment violence and mount suicide attacks

The Chinese government has been accusing Dalai Lama and his supporters of all the violent protest that have been taking place in Lhasa, china.

All this trouble started when the security chief of Beijing uncovered hundreds of guns, explosives and bullets in their monasteries. The chief said that this entire arsenal will increase the violence within the conflict between the government and the Tibetan in exile. One of the supporters of Dalai Lama (and he is also in exile) said that, instead of continuous talking about the suicides plots and the way how monks have been reacting, they should focused on in why Tibetans feel resentful against the Chinese government and what they can do in order to stop all the riot, the toll and all the damage that this conflict has made into the society.
